INSPIRED by Japan, developer Team Keris Bhd’s (TKB) latest double-storey terrace houses in Ipoh, Perak, will be incorporating eco-friendly elements too.
When you enter the project site, a huge sumo wrestler statue known as “Dai-Koun” standing 5.5m tall, welcomes guests.
TKB Group deputy chairman Datin Irene Lee said the project known as Shibuya was located in the southern part of Ipoh, close to the Simpang Pulai toll plaza.
Work has started for the terrace houses and completion is expected by the end of next year.
Lee said this was the second phase. The first-phase units known as Jia, still under construction, are fully sold.
She said there was also a commercial area called Ginza in the same Ipoh South area.
Ginza and Jia were both launched in February this year, and works are ongoing.
“With demand for more properties in Ipoh South, a much sought-after and vibrant location, Shibuya features a Japanese concept.
“There will be a total of 322 units and each has a built-up area of 2,112sq ft.
“The innovative design and floor plans are meticulously planned to complement modern living, as space is the most important aspect of any house,” Lee told reporters at the show unit for the new project.
She said the units would have four bedrooms with attached bathrooms, two concept rooms, an open kitchen and outdoor space for barbeque.
The project is close to areas such as Bandar Seri Botani, Taman Song Choon in Gunung Rapat, and Pengkalan.
Also nearby are several government, private and international schools, banks, hypermarkets, hospitals, clinics and commercial zones.
Lee said Shibuya comes with a large entrance door, high ceiling, spacious balcony as well as wide windows to promote good ventilation and natural lighting.
“These houses are oriented to the north-south position to allow the interior to remain cool.
“We at TKB want to bring harmony, luck, strength in unity, and happiness to all living beings as portrayed by Dai-Koun, with its feet firmly planted on the ground,” she added.
Lee said the project would also come with a greenhouse that was currently run by staff, with residents to be included later.
There is an artistic children’s playground too, besides plans to add more outdoor exercise equipment as well as several new features to the playground, she said.
In addition, she said there would also be a landscaped park, with trees planted along the walkway.
Lee revealed plans to offer club facilities, a healthy food kitchen and gym.
“We realise younger people tend to look for jobs in other cities. Thus, we want to provide comfortable homes with all the necessary infrastructure, amenities and technology so that the younger generation does not need to leave Ipoh.
“Scanning of entry cards and facial recognition features are some of the high-tech features that we are introducing,” she highlighted.
Lee said that in the next eight years, TKB would have several projects lined up in Bercham, along the Ipoh-Gopeng road, and Batu Gajah.
Until Nov 4, those who come dressed in Japanese outfits or accessories, take pictures with the sumo wrestler statue and upload them on their social media will get a 1% discount when they purchase the property.
Prices for Shibuya units start from RM568,800.
