KUALA LUMPUR: A total of RM8.9mil has been spent on mass publicity materials like billboards, banners and signs nationwide since November 2022 to publicise the Malaysia Madani national agenda, says Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali (pic).
The Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Sabah, Sarawak Affairs and Special Functions) said the efforts to promote and share the Malaysia Madani aspiration are done in a holistic manner.
He added that this has been implemented by all government ministries, departments and agencies through suitable platforms and media.
Armizan then said that such initiatives are important to enhance the understanding and appreciation of the people towards the government’s aspirations and policies.
“The expenditure for the installation of Malaysia Madani billboards or signs across the country since the formation of the unity government in Nov last year until now stands at RM8.9mil,” he said in a written reply to Datuk Che Mohamad Zulkifly Juson (PN-Besut)
Che Mohamad had asked how much has been spent by the unity government since it was formed after the general election that took place last November.
Armizan explained that the expenditure includes the printing cost, installation, maintenance, removal and logistics work for static billboards, digital billboards, temporary billboards, banners, and buntings across the country.
On Jan 19, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim introduced Malaysia Madani as an effort to drive and restore Malaysia’s dignity and glory in the global arena.
Malaysia Madani lays out Anwar’s vision of a civilised, skilled and inclusive society based on six core values namely Sustainability, Prosperity, Innovation, Respect, Trust and Compassion.
In his previous speech, Anwar also called on all his Cabinet members and civil servants to practice the core values in all administrative affairs.
