THE festive spirit is alive at Aman Central in Alor Setar, Kedah, which has lined up activities, performances, redemptions, workshops and contests until Jan 2 next year.
While cute reindeer welcome visitors at entrances, the mall’s central atrium has been turned into a snow village complete with a giant snowman cake.
Aman Central marketing communications senior manager Ken Chin said Christmas had always been one of the most anticipated times for the mall.
“As one of the main lifestyle destinations in the northern region, we strive to curate rewarding experiences.
“This year, we chose ‘Holiday Spirit’ as the theme to remind everyone of the joys that this time of year brings,” he said during the launch of the Christmas celebrations which saw snowfall, bursts of confetti and singing of carols.
The ceremony was attended by Kedah human resources, Chinese, Indian and Siamese affairs and non-governmental organisations committee chairman Wong Chia Zhen.
Also present were Belleview Group finance general manager Ooi Lay Wah, property management manager Alexius Liew, senior leasing manager Brian Ho and fit out manager Lim Hooi Fong, as well as Aman Central operations manager Gan Poh Hin.
Chin also announced that this year’s footfall for the mall had matched 90% of the figures from 2018 and 2019 before the Covid-19 pandemic struck.
This, he said, was a good indicator of strong market recovery.
He said the mall would continue to evolve their tenant and brand mix to enhance the shopping experience.
“We recently welcomed Secret Recipe, Toysland, Pasta Port, LeWel, Ichiban Ramen, Penang Chendul, Garmin, HWC Coffee, Gong Cha and Chagee.
“Coming up in 2024 will be Naelofar, The Parenthood, Step Health, Mommy Hana, Audrey and Sembonia, among others,” said Chin.
Activities to look forward to include performances at 3pm on Dec 15, 17, 24 and 25, as well as Let It Snow sessions at 6pm on Dec 15, 16, 22, 23, 24 and 25.
Santa Claus and friends will also have walkabouts at 5pm on Dec 15, 16, 17, 23, 24 and 25.
There is also a TikTok contest. Follow the mall’s account (@amancentraltiktok), then record a video with the mall’s Christmas decorations. Upload with hashtags #ACContest and #ACChristmas.
The 10 best entries will win prizes worth up to RM1,000.
Shoppers spending RM150 or more in a single receipt can join the Gift Wrapping Workshop at 3pm on Dec 22 (available on a first-come, first-served basis).
Finally, the Holiday Spirit redemption lets shoppers who spend RM1,388 or more in a maximum of two combined receipts redeem a special gift, while stocks last.
