PUTRAJAYA: The people are fed up with the Opposition for playing politics and aiming to create political instability, says Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
Commenting on talk of the recent so-called “Dubai Move” to unseat the unity government, the Deputy Prime Minister said the people want “political stability and economic growth to improve investor confidence in the country.”
“We have about four more years before an election can be called… let us rebuild the country.

“Don’t waste any more of the people’s time. I think enough is enough for the Opposition making (this) type of ‘move’, regardless of the name,” he told a press conference at the Rural and Regional Development Ministry, which he also heads, here on Friday (Jan 5).
Furthermore, Ahmad Zahid said, that a “Dubai Move” or “Chow Kit Move” or whatever the orchestrators wish to call it will fail because of the unity government’s solid support.
“If you want to use the ‘back door’, statutory declarations (SDs) cannot be used as the main platform, because we now have the anti-hopping law.

“(This means) any big decision (for supporting one faction or another) will be made by the party, and if there is any change, it must be en bloc.
“Assurance (of support for the government) has been given by the Premier of Sarawak, who also leads Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS),” he added.
Ahmad Zahid had been asked to comment on alleged moves by the Opposition to topple the unity government.
