A GIRL in Shenzhen, China, plummeted four storeys to the ground at an amusement park after staff failed to secure her safety harness, Sin Chew Daily reported.

The girl’s parents said their daughter had sustained head injuries, chipped teeth and a broken arm.

The victim was rushed to hospital and is currently receiving treatment in an intensive care unit.

A park employee told the press that the girl’s safety harness for one of its obstacle courses had not been fastened properly.

“She managed to hold on to the harness for a few seconds before plunging to the ground,” he said.

The amusement park has been closed temporarily pending an internal investigation into the accident.

> The daily also reported that a Jay Chou lookalike in China sparked a debate online after he became ambassador for product brands.

The online influencer named Li Feifei had his face plastered across bottles of iced black tea in China, with many paying for the beverage without realising that it was not the real Chou on the bottle.

When confronted, the tea brand said it had done nothing wrong as Li’s real name was listed clearly on the bottle.

The company said it had never claimed that the dead ringer for Chou was the superstar himself despite the likeness.

While many Internet users were critical of the tea company, others thought it was funny.

“A fake Jay Chou becoming an ambassador for a copycat tea brand,” one netizen quipped.

Li is reported to have 75,000 followers on Douyin and goes by the handle Zhou Kou Jielun.

> Taiwanese singer Rainie Yang has blamed her lacklustre performance on nerves in the latest episode of Singer 2024.

China Press reported that the 39-year-old fumbled her high notes when singing Take Me Away in a live broadcast on May 10, causing her to rank among the bottom two performers in that episode.

“Sigh… I was defeated by nervousness. There is no opportunity to try again.

“I can only do my best in every single concert in the future to make up for all of your disappointment,” she wrote on Instagram.
