Musical celebrates MCA’s 75th anniversary

TO commemorate MCA’s 75th anniversary, the party’s Terengganu chapter hosted a musical gala that highlighted significant milestones and achievements of the party since its inception.

The Legacy musical gala, which was held at SJK (C) Chung Hwa Wei Sin in Kuala Terengganu, depicted MCA’s establishment by its founder Tun Tan Cheng Lock.

Terengganu MCA chairman Dr Monna Ong Siew Siew, who led the team in executing the musical, said it took eight months of preparations and involved nearly 50 professional performers.

Showing their support were (third from left) Wong, Ong, Dr Wee and Dr Mah, alongside Chan (third from right).

“This musical drama traces the party’s origins, back to the first meeting of our state liaison committee that aimed to rally grassroots party members,” she said.

Ong said Legacy was more than just a musical but served as a clarion call for party members to unite and reflect on MCA’s history.

She also stressed the importance of party unity in facing adversity, saying that it was time for MCA to strengthen and work harder.

“Reforming the party is an arduous task, so we must unite as one and have faith to revitalise the party, which is the foundation of our survival,” she said.
