Intense showdown at JB cricket final

THE sport of cricket is thriving in Johor. This is evident following the success of Malaysia T10 Bash Johor Cricket Council (JCC) tournament.

JCC president Dr Faidz Abd Rahman said the tournament was held at the prestigious Dato Dr Harjit Singh Johor Cricket Academy and Oval in Mutiara Rini.

“Eight teams took part in the three-day tournament, which also had a good crowd that turned up to watch the matches.

“The event showcased the immense cricket talent and passion within Malaysia, culminating in an intense showdown between JB Stars and JB Panthers in the final match,” he said.

The trophy went to JB Stars.

Faidz said the Malaysia T10 Bash JCC trophy marked a significant milestone in the strategic plan of the council in promoting cricket in the state.

“As JCC embarks on its five-year plan, the tournament serves as a cornerstone initiative aimed at elevating cricket among communities and grassroot levels,” he said.

“By organising events of such calibre, JCC aims to foster a culture of cricketing excellence and inclusivity throughout Johor and beyond.”

According to him, the Malaysia T10 Bash JCC trophy not only showcased the remarkable talent of local cricketing teams but also served as a platform for fostering camaraderie and unity within the cricketing community.

“As the tournament concluded, it reaffirmed the nation’s passion for cricket and has set the stage for future sporting excellence,” said Faidz.

He also thanked various organisations and sponsors for helping to make the Malaysia T10 Bash JCC tournament a success.

“The Malaysia Cricket Association played a pivotal role in supporting this prestigious event, ensuring its success and prominence within the cricketing community.

“Support from the Iskandar Puteri MP’s office was instrumental in elevating the stature of the tournament and facilitating its seamless organisation,” he added.
