Agroz launches educational vertical farm in the city

KUALA LUMPUR: Agroz Group Sdn Bhd has launched its 8,000 sq ft indoor farm, Agroz EduFarm-in-City at the AEON Alpha Angle.

The EduFarm will open for weekend tours from September 2023 to showcase how its technology produces quality, clean and pesticide-free vegetables.

In a statement, Agroz said the EduFarm has its own experience centre and activity room to demonstrate to children and families especially how vegetable farming is possible right in the heart of the city.

It added that the EduFarm is utilising controlled environment agriculture (CEA) and digital technologies developed by the company.

The EduFarm will grow and produce clean, nutrient rich and the freshest vegetables daily to be supplied and sold at AEON Alpha Angle as well as eight other AEON supermarkets across the Klang Valley.

“We are thrilled to collaborate with AEON in bringing the Agroz EduFarm-in-City into the shopping and retail experience of AEON shoppers, while at the same time creating awareness and experiential learning for parents, children, students and the general public about how clean, healthy and fresh vegetables are grown”, Agroz Group founder and chief executive officer Gerard Lim said.

The vegetables grown in Agroz’s CEA vertical farms range from salad leaves such as lettuces, kale, arugula, wild rocket, to local varieties such as nai pak and siew pak choy.
