PETALING JAYA: Sime Darby Motors’ Auto Bavaria has launched a distinctive service catering exclusively to BMW and MINI vehicles that have achieved classic status.
The main local dealership for BMW and MINI vehicles defines a classic car as one that has exceeded 15 years from the last series production date of the model, typically occurring after the conclusion of a model’s seven-year lifecycle.
Having commenced its services since Nov 26, the pioneering initiative at the Ara Damansara dealership here is poised to meet the unique needs of classic car enthusiasts.
“With a dedicated team comprising two work bays, two skilled technicians, a foreman, and two service advisers exclusively allocated at the Ara Damansara dealership, Auto Bavaria is primed to offer a comprehensive range of services,” the company said in a statement. The services include maintenance and refurbishment.
BMW Group Malaysia managing director and chief executive officer Hans de Visser said: “Over the years, the group has seen passion for the brand and our cars, whether old or new, expanding across the country.
“We believe the latest service will serve this growing market well, strengthened by our confidence in Auto Bavaria’s experts to skilfully preserve these legacy models, ensuring the continued delivery of hallmark ‘Sheer Driving Pleasure’ in Malaysia,” he pointed out.
Meanwhile, Auto Bavaria managing director Vi Thim Juan said the hallmark of the initiative is in the dealership’s commitment to preserving the legacy of its vehicles.
“Our team is equipped with specialised knowledge and expertise to maintain, repair, and refurbish these iconic vehicles, preserving their heritage and ensuring they continue to exude the same brilliance and performance that defined them in their prime,” he said.
To uphold the authenticity and quality of service, Auto Bavaria said it would prioritise sourcing parts and accessories from BMW Germany.
It said that in cases where specific parts are phased out, the dealership would explore sourcing alternatives from original equipment manufacturer suppliers while maintaining stringent quality standards.
All service records will be recorded in a BMW classic car service booklet, ensuring a comprehensive history of maintenance and repairs, securely stored in the Auto Bavaria system.
