CelcomDigi partners ZTE for cutting-edge solutions in smart manufacturing and smart warehousing

PETALING JAYA: CelcomDigi Bhd (CelcomDigi), Malaysia’s largest mobile network operator and ZTE Malaysia Corporation Sdn Bhd (ZTE), a global leader in telecommunications and information technology announced a strategic partnership to transform Malaysia’s manufacturing and warehousing with smart technology and 5G powered innovative solutions.

Through this collaboration, CelcomDigi’s Innovation Centre will leverage ZTE’s cutting-edge solutions such as ZTE’s digital twin technology, natural navigated 5G Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) and smart helmet, in smart manufacturing and smart warehousing and drive adoption of 5G solutions across Malaysia’s manufacturing and warehousing industries.

The parties will utilise ZTE’s digital twin technology which can deliver factory automation, real-time control of machine tasks, and data dashboards to accelerate enterprise informatisation and Fourth Industrial Revolution (IR4.0) transformation, towards realising the concept of “lights-out” factory.

ZTE is also introducing its natural navigated 5G AGV, the first of its kind globally with an integrated 5G module, to boost productivity and logistics.

Additionally, ZTE’s smart helmet is equipped with multiple safety detection features such as vital sign monitoring, GPS positioning for emergency response and alarm notifications.

The Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) was signed by CelcomDigi chief executive officer Datuk Idham Nawawi, ZTE Malaysia managing director Steven Ge, witnessed by Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) chairman Tan Sri Mohamad Salim Fateh Din and CelcomDigi’s chair of the board Tengku Datuk Seri Azmil Zahruddin Raja Abdul Aziz, at the Mobile World Congress 2024 in Barcelona, Spain.
