THE Malaysia International Construction and Infrastructure Technology Exhibition (MBAM OneBuild), has grown to become the country’s most influential construction trade event.
Organised by MBAM OneBuild Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of the Master Builders Association Malaysia (MBAM), it provides a platform for construction and infrastructure industry players to gain insights into the latest market information and technology as well as build networks for business opportunities
This year, the ninth edition held at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre was launched by Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi.
“MBAM OneBuild 2023 is not merely an assembly of individuals and organisations, it is a testament to our country’s commitment to fore a future founded on the tenets of creativity and sustainable progress,” he said.
This year’s event drew 150 exhibitors from Malaysia, Thailand, South Korea, Singapore, China, Germany and the US.
They showcased a comprehensive range of the latest products, solutions and cutting-edge technologies in the construction and infrastructure industry.
The products and solutions ranged from hardware and machinery to green construction technologies as well as drainage, sewage and wastewater management systems.
The event was also attended by 15 delegations from different countries, allowing both local and international industry players to foster the exchange of information.
Themed “Shaping the Future of Construction”, the exhibition highlighted the role of digitalisation and sustainability in the construction and infrastructure landscape to meet the evolving needs of the modern world.
“The construction sector in Malaysia must embrace the disruption of technologies, whether in terms of industrialised building systems (IBS), building information modelling (BIM), or automation,” said Nanta, stressing the importance of adopting new mechanisms and processes.

MBAM president Oliver HC Wee said construction and infrastructure players have observed how technology had emerged as a major driving force in the development of the two industries.
“The question is whether we will be resistant to change and can we revolutionise the way we work,” said Wee.
He emphasised that embracing new trends and technologies in the industry would not only lead to efficient and cost-effective construction processes but also contribute to a more environmentally responsible and resilient built environment.
Both Nanta and Wee called upon exhibitors, industry players, and attendees to use MBAM OneBuild 2023 as a platform for collaborations and exploring business opportunities.
Apart from the exhibition, the three-day event also saw live demonstrations, industry networking sessions and exclusive seminars that highlighted the current and future landscape of digital construction in Malaysia.
