Developer donates to schools and foundations

AS part of its social responsibility effort, Mitraland Group has donated RM96,000 to various educational and media organisations with the aim of supporting their initiatives.

At the cheque handover ceremony, Mitraland Group chief operating officer Tan Chee Hoaw, said the spirit of community well-being extended beyond building homes.

SJK(C) Wu Teck received the largest donation of RM50,000 for its new multipurpose building that will help the school increase the number of classrooms and other facilities.

Star Foundation was among media related foundations that received RM10,000 from Mitraland Group.

“The donations represent a pledge by Mitraland Group to keep on aiding communities in need.

“By pairing up with established institutions, we can reach the grassroots directly, ensuring that those who really need our contributions can be helped,” said Tan.

“Earlier this year, Mitraland Group led a fundraiser that raised a total of RM300,000.

“Around RM130,000 has been donated to 15 charitable organisations so far.

“The remaining RM170,000 will be allocated within this year to other deserving institutions.”

The total amount contributed by Mitraland Group to charity from 2005 to date is approximately RM4.3mil.

Star Foundation secretary Daphne Wong received the contribution from Mitraland Group chairman Datuk Johan Ariffin and Mitraland Group deputy executive chairman Chuah Theong Yee during the ceremony.

Wong said she was grateful for Mitraland Group’s generous support in furthering the foundation’s multifaceted social outreach programmes which are aimed at supporting and delivering sustainable and meaningful initiatives with lasting outcomes to diverse beneficiaries.

“Star Foundation plays an integral part as Star Media Group’s charitable arm in reaching out and bringing positive impact to underprivileged communities across the country,” Wong added.

Since its establishment in 2004, the foundation has channelled over RM20mil to support more than 360 non-governmental organisations involved in serving the health, education and social welfare sectors.

The philanthropic gesture coincided with the developer’s unveiling of The Riva Resi-dences.

This is the latest addition to the Mitraland Group’s Gravit8 lakeside development at Kota Bayu Emas in Klang.

The Riva Residences is inspired by the allure of Venice, creating a blend of luxury and Venetian charm along a picturesque waterfront.

It consists of 616 units offering five layouts ranging from 551sq ft to 1,497sq ft, with a choice of 1+1 and 4+1 bedrooms.

The development is also a wellness sanctuary featuring 31 wellness-integrated facilities including a deck and reflexology zone.

It also has innovative security features such as facial recognition access for residents.
