Expo to serve as exchange hub for laboratory sciences

THE region’s premier international laboratory equipment and instrumentation exhibition and conference is set to open its doors again, showcasing the latest breakthroughs and technological advances in the field of laboratory sciences.

Taking place from Oct 10 to 12, the eighth edition of Malaysia International Scientific Instruments and Laboratory Equipment Exhibition and Conference (LabAsia 2023) will bring together leading experts, researchers and professionals from around the world.

The event, to be held at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, is organised by Informa Markets Malaysia Sdn Bhd and Institut Kimia Malaysia (IKM).

LabAsia 2023 will host participants from nine countries – China, Hong Kong, India, South Korea, Portugal, Singapore, Switzerland, Taiwan and the United Arab Emirates.

With a global representation of innovation and expertise, LabAsia 2023 serves as a platform for exhibitors and visitors to connect, share insights and explore the latest advances in laboratory and analytical technologies.

An anticipated 7,000 visitors will make their way to LabAsia 2023, where they can look forward to engaging in technical seminars, business matching sessions and networking opportunities with experts and professionals from around the globe.

The event will also feature a diverse range of exhibitors, including manufacturers, suppliers and distributors of laboratory equipment, analytical instruments and other cutting-edge technologies.

Informa Markets country general manager Gerard Leeuwenburgh said, “From artificial intelligence-driven laboratory automation to advanced spectroscopy, LabAsia 2023 will highlight breakthrough technologies revolutionising research, diagnostics and analysis across various industries.”

The conference segment will offer a comprehensive lineup of presentations, panel discussions and technical sessions where participants will share insights on topics ranging from analytical chemistry to life sciences, environmental testing and material characterisation.

One of the key factors that sets LabAsia 2023 apart from similar events is its strategic co-location with global scientific conferences hosted by IKM.

The event will host IKM conferences and symposiums such as Asian Conference on Analytical Sciences 2023, Asia-Pacific International Symposium on Microscale Separations and Analysis 2023, Symposium on Forensic Science 2023 and Symposium on Halal Testing and Authenticity.

“When IKM first launched LabAsia in 2007, it was our intention to align with advancing chemistry and chemical sciences in synergy with the latest developments and innovations in laboratory science and technology,” said IKM president Datuk Dr Soon Ting Kueh.

LabAsia, he added, would complement and supplement advances made in chemical sciences with practical applications in various disciplines in chemistry, as chemical sciences played a major role in sustainable social development.

“I am sure LabAsia 2023 will further reinforce the role of chemistry in United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 2030,” he said.

LabAsia 2023 also offers a platform for researchers, scientists and academics to present their findings to industry experts.

This enhances the event’s impact by translating academic insights into practical applications, while offering industry leaders access to cutting-edge research to fuel innovation and business opportunities.

Trade visitors are encouraged to pre-register for LabAsia 2023.
