A 62-year-old celebrity said he confessed his love to singer-actor Sit Yeng Yi in public but was promptly rejected, China Press reported.

Dominic Chow, who was a popular singer in the 1980s, said he met Sit during a charity fundraising dinner recently.

Describing Sit as his “goddess”, Chow claimed to have confessed his love to the 39-year-old but she stood up, walked away and refused to even take a photo with him.

“I must say I felt a sense of loss and frustration. It is okay if you do not love me, but you can’t stop me from loving you!” he wrote on Facebook.

It is uncertain if Chow was sincere in his “confession” or if he was merely poking fun at her for rejecting a selfie with him.

Sit, 39, gained fame in July 2021 after saying that she was confident of winning the Miss Asia Pageant 2021, but she did not clear the qualifying round.

However, she managed to land herself a contract with ATV later that year.

> The daily also reported that tourists at the Ancestral Temple Museum in Foshan City, China, were being “robbed” by street performers dressed as Sun Wukong, the Monkey King.

Tourists said performers would take selfies with them without first explaining that they were required to pay a fee.

Many unsuspecting foreign tourists had fallen into their trap and were extorted for money.

A recent video showed a man taking out a wad of bills from his wallet to pay two performers only to have one of them making a grab for the cash.

A “beggar” nearby then went after the tourist and chased him away.

According to the management office, it was aware of the incidents and had increased the number of patrols.
