Govt chief secretary urges ministries to utilise unspent allocations

PUTRAJAYA: Ministries which have more than 40% of their allocations remaining have been urged to do so to ensure successful projects are delivered to targeted groups, said Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali (pic).

The Chief Secretary to the Government said this at the first National Development Awards (APN) 2023, which saw 21 awards being presented to various ministries and agencies.

The event, held for the first time, is the government’s recognition of ministries and government departments which have managed development projects successfully.

Mohd Zuki’s speech was read by the Prime Minister’s Department’s implementation and coordination unit director general Datuk Wan Ahmad Dahlan Abdul Aziz.

The event, which was held here on Tuesday (Nov 14), saw ministries, government departments and agencies receiving awards for successful implementation of projects with the largest impact on targeted groups.

“As of Nov 6, based on the Rolling Plan 3 of the 12th Malaysian Plan expenditure, RM74.53bil has been spent.

“This is 76.84% of the RM97bil allocation involving 8,241 projects,” said Mohd Zuki.

During the event, the High Performance Ministry Outcome Assessment Award was won by the Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change Ministry.

The Sustainable High Performance Project Outcome Evaluation Award was won by the Mineral and Geoscience Project.

The High Impact High Performance Project Outcome Evaluation Award was won by Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation.

High Performance Project Outcome Evaluation Award for Catalyst for Change was awarded to Malaysian Palm Oil Board

The first place for the Best Development Performance Award for allocations above RM1bil was won by the Higher Education Ministry.

The first place for the Best Development Performance Award for allocations below RM1bil was awarded to the Investment, Trade and Industry Ministry.

The Icon of MyProjek Award was won by the Youth and Sports Ministry.

The first place for the Best Industrialised Building System (IBS) Management Award above RM1bil was won by the Education Ministry.

The first place for Best IBS Management Award under RM1bil was won by the Women, Family and Community Development Ministry.
