INSIDE the dining hall, several men were spotted dressed in baju melayu and batik shirts, while some of the women donned cheongsam, baju kebaya or baju kurung.
Conversations flowed easily as guests feasted together and captured memories on their smartphones.
This was the scene at the Malaysian Entrepreneurs’ Development Association (PUMM) dinner held at a restaurant in Pudu, Kuala Lumpur.
The event served as a prelude to its 29th annual general meeting and central committee election for the 2024-2026 term.
It was attended by PUMM national and legal advisors, corporate patrons, media partners and business players from various industries.
PUMM national president Tan Lay Seong emphasised the role of entrepreneurship in driving Malaysia’s economic growth.
“Our association boasts a diverse platform for entrepreneurs and extensive representation across various industries.
“We are inclusive regardless of the company size, and are active in fostering collaboration and innovation among members,” Tan said in his speech.
PUMM, in a statement, said the 2021-2024 term saw remarkable achievements as it expanded its reach across the nation.
“This includes the establishment of liaison offices across multiple states, acquisition of a dedicated office space and enhancement of organisational structure and financial management practices.”
The association also reiterated its commitment to various initiatives aimed at ensuring its continued relevance.
Among these are collaborations with educational institutions, member benefits programmes and digital transformation efforts.
Tan later presented a token of appreciation to Star Media Group Bhd, as a gesture of thanks for its continued support for PUMM.
He also presented similar tokens to other media companies, corporate patrons and auditors.
The event also saw the launch of two books titled 30 Years Anniversary and PUMM Introduction.
It also announced the formation of PUMM liaisons in Kedah and Perlis.
