Over 30 suspected prostitutes nabbed in raids across Klang Valley

KUALA LUMPUR: More than 30 foreign women were detained following raids on prostitution dens and massage parlours in the Klang Valley.

Their modus operandi is to offer massage services for as low as RM60 before offering sex services for additional charges.

The raids were conducted by the Bukit Aman CID anti-vice, gambling and secret societies division (D7) in Brickfields, Cheras, Dang Wangi, Kajang, Gombak and Ampang on Friday.

The division’s principal assistant director Senior Asst Comm Mohamad Farouk Eshak said 39 women aged between 19 and 50, purportedly working as sex workers and massage therapists, were detained following 10 raids.

“A total of 22 women were from Thailand, five each from Vietnam and Indonesia, six from Laos and one from Cambodia. We also detained nine men, who worked at the counters of the premises,” he said when contacted.

The management of the premises raided not only employed foreign women without proper permits but also offered sexual services to customers, SAC Mohamad Farouk said.

“The premises operate from 10am until 1am daily, and offer services for walk-in customers as well as bookings via WhatsApp.They catered mostly to foreigners and regular customers,” he said.

SAC Mohamad Farouk said sex services were priced between RM150 and RM320 per session while massages cost between RM60 and RM120.

“Customers are also charged between RM50 and RM80 for additional services.

“Most of the foreign women misused their social visit passes while others did not even have travel or identification documents,” he said.

All those detained were brought to several district police headquarters for further action.

Separately, two men were detained for allegedly organising bets for the Euro 2024 football tournament, SAC Mohamad Farouk said.

“They were detained at Jalan Genting Klang and Taman Wahyu at about 9am on Saturday.

“We conducted checks on a website where the suspects hosted illegal bets for matches during the tournament.

“Each man was paid up to RM5,000 and we believe the syndicate raked in up to RM12,000 in profits daily,” he said.

He said the syndicate operated for 24 hours and the members worked from a condominium.

“The duo were brought to the district police headquarters in Wangsa Maju and Sentul,” SAC Mohamad Farouk added.
