Persiaran Kewajipan roundabout needs traffic lights

AS A regular commuter from Puchong Jaya to Subang Jaya, I was concerned to read about the flyover project from Subang Permai to Persiaran Kewajipan.

While it might alleviate traffic flow at the Kewajipan intersection, it will probably cause greater congestion as there will be a continuous flow of traffic into Persiaran Kewajipan from all directions heading towards SS15, Sunway and Subang.

It will probably cause more traffic buildup at the Kewajipan roundabout.

I am flabbergasted as to how Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) is oblivious to the torture that motorists have to face in trying to negotiate the roundabout.

The fact that many of them are heading to the medical centre nearby appears to be lost on the authorities.

After reaching the roundabout with traffic moving at a snail’s pace, motorists have to risk their lives trying to outmanoeuvre each other against the incessant flow of traffic from the opposite direction.

After so many years during which time the traffic volume has increased, has it not occurred to MBSJ to instal traffic lights at the roundabout so that everyone has equal opportunity to pass?

I hope MBSJ can act on this as soon as possible as anybody who witnesses the situation can see the urgency.

Separately, I would like to ask why all parking bays near SS15 LRT station in Subang Jaya are marked with the two-hour time limit.

This prevents LRT users from parking their vehicles.

How does this sync with the Transport Ministry’s call to use public transport?

I also fail to see the need to reduce parking to two hours around residential and office buildings such as First Subang.

I hope MBSJ will be able to make decisions that meet the basic needs of people in areas under its jurisdiction.
