Public engagement and more at Madani one-year bash

KUALA LUMPUR: The upcoming Madani government’s one-year anniversary programme is more than just a celebration or festival, but also a chance for the public to dive into the heart of policies, initiatives and achievements, says Fahmi Fadzil.

The Communications and Digital Minister said this three-day event, from Dec 8 to 10 at the National Stadium grounds in Bukit Jalil, is an opportunity for the people to tap into the government’s plans at the booths of various ministries.

“We will utilise this platform to increase public awareness of everything we have done, and bring benefits to the people.

“In addition, visitors can register directly for their Digital ID at this programme,” he said as a guest on the “Apa Khabar Malaysia: Setahun Bersama Kerajaan Madani” broadcast, which aired live on BK TV yesterday.

Fahmi said visitors will also have the opportunity to purchase daily necessities at the Madani mega sale and Rahmah sale booths.

He said counters will also be set up for people to settle their summonses.

“We expect over 100,000 or close to 200,000 people at the programme.

“And we hope they will leave with a newfound appreciation for what the Madani government has achieved in its first year,” he said.

He said it included raising the name of Malaysia in the eyes of the world, especially in its stance on the oppression of Palestinians.

He said this is in addition to continuous efforts in the aspects of restructuring the economy, empowering the digital economy and controlling the prices of goods to ensure the country regains its Asian Tiger status.

Fahmi advised those planning to attend the programme to plan ahead their driving, shuttle bus or LRT journeys.

He also said the unity government is determined to increase the people’s income in the second year of its administration.

“In the first year, the unity government generally managed to strengthen political stability; this is a crucial foundation as there is no change in government.”

Fahmi said with this stable foundation, the government could announce various policies such as the Madani Economy, New Industrial Master Plan (NIMP), transition to green energy, and the latest – the White Paper on Progressive Wage Policy, among others.

He said that continuing to retain the unity government would help improve political stability, increase investor confidence and strengthen the ringgit.
