Sepang to have Chinese primary school at township’s education hub

A CHINESE primary school will be built at Bandar Sunsuria in Sepang, Selangor.

Developer Sunsuria Bhd announced that SJK (C) Sunsuria was part of its education hub project within the township.

Deputy Education Minister Wong Kah Woh said the school would be built on 6ha of land.

“Construction is expected to start this year and take three years to complete.

“The school is estimated to cost RM18mil and will be funded through donations led by the developer.

“There will be 24 classrooms to accommodate about 1,000 pupils,” he said.

Wong said the township was rapidly developing and in need of more schools.

“The school will be beneficial to residents in the township and its surroundings.

“It will also help in the ministry’s efforts to reduce overcrowding in schools,” he said at the school and education hub groundbreaking ceremony.

Also present were Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek and Sunsuria executive chairman Tan Sri Ter Leong Yap.

Ter said the vision was to provide a comprehensive educational experience that emphasised both academic excellence and co-curricular activities to fully realise each student’s potential.

“We aim to foster character-building and bring the best out of our future generation.

“To further this goal, we are fostering collaboration between schools in Bandar Sunsuria.

“By embracing diversity, inclusivity and tolerance, we will encourage cross ethnic learning and cultural integration, fostering unity and mutual trust.

“This initiative will serve as a catalyst for Malaysia’s social progress and economic growth.”

Ter said the school would have a football field as well as badminton and basketball courts, among other amenities.

“These amenities are designed to provide a conducive and inclusive learning environment to nurture well-rounded students.”
