A mother of four in Kota Baru has created more than 500 costumes for the National Day and Malaysia day celebrations since 2017.
Utusan Malaysia reported that Maznah Md Yusoff, 39, started making National Day-inspired costumes for her eldest daughter, Qistina Mohd Daud, 11, when she entered a costume competition for National Day six years ago.
“As a tailor, I used my skills to sew the costumes with my own ideas and creativity.
“My daughter was able to get first prize with my creation. Since then, I’ve been receiving orders from other parents who want costumes for their children to wear to their school during the National Day month,” she said.
Maznah made all the costumes without any assistance from others. Her costumes for boys are priced between RM50 and RM100 each, while those for girls are priced from RM200 to RM250 each. For special orders complete with custom-made accessories, Maznah said they would cost around RM500.

Caprice, whose real name is Ariz Ramli, believes that the act was done to create problems for his family.
“I don’t know how they managed to find out where we live.
“Someone managed to leave something on my wife’s car. Who did this disgusting behaviour? If you did it, face me now,” he said.
The 35-year-old lodged a police report in Mont Kiara, Kuala Lumpur, following the incident.
Caprice also shared a video clip showing the black package which was wrapped in a face mask filled with tissues.
On social media, fans advised the rapper and his family members to be careful.
