A SEEMINGLY small boil on a child’s head turned tragic when it became large enough to cause seizures and brain damage, leaving the girl bedridden, Kosmo! reported.
Mother of three Engku Noor Wahidah Engku Anuar, 31, initially thought nothing of the little boil on the head of her youngest child, Putri Nur Elyna Soffiya Kairul Azahar, aged four.
“We thought the boil was nothing serious at first until Nur Elyna Soffiya, who was two years old at the time, had a seizure six months later.
“The doctor’s examination confirmed that my daughter’s head was filled with pus. She had to undergo surgery to remove the pus,” she said.
The surgery, however, failed to cure the child, who then had another seizure.
Engku Noor Wahidah’s health has suffered as she has had to care for her two older children with disabilities, aged 10 and 12. This led her to make the difficult decision to close her business at a night market.
The family now depends solely on the income of her husband, Kairul Azahar Mohamad, 32, who earns a monthly income of RM1,200.
