Use Respons Rakyat app for swift action, urges Iskandar Puteri mayor

ISKANDAR Puteri City Council (MBIP) is urging the public to use the Respons Rakyat app to channel their complaints and feedback.

Mayor Datuk Mohd Haffiz Ahmad said the city council was moving towards digitalisation of services via the app developed by the Public Complaints Bureau.

“This new channel makes it easier for the public to make complaints and suggestions to ministries and public sector agencies quickly and transparently,” he said in his speech during MBIP’s full board meeting.

To lodge a report, he said, a user should register their account, then pick the related local authority, such as MBIP, insert a heading and provide details of the complaints or give feedback.

“They will then need to tag the complaint location before uploading video, audio or photo through the app.”

Mohd Haffiz was hopeful the app would have positive impact on MBIP’s services in resolving complaints.

On an unrelated matter, he said MBIP received the Emerald Award from the Malaysia Institute of Planners (MIP) MyPlace Awards 2023.

The awards recognise outstanding placemaking initiatives by organisations and communities in enhancing public spaces and fostering positive impact for local communities.

MyPlace Awards 2023 was judged by 30 experts and professionals in their respective fields.

“MBIP, together with Iskandar Puteri low carbon community grant project head Associate Professor Dr Norahim Ibrahim won for Best Organic Waste Recycling Habits at Jentayu,” he added.

Mohd Haffiz said the project opened the eyes of more than 600 students about the importance of good solid waste management through a series of workshops and activities.

He also said the Amalgamated National Union of Local Authorities Employees Peninsular Malaysia (Anulae) MBIP branch received the innovative branch award at the union’s conference.

Mohd Haffiz added that the award was presented by state agriculture, agro-based industry and rural committee chairman Datuk Zahari Sarip, who was representing the Johor Mentri Besar.
